Sarah Barker is an Independent Member of the ESG Advisory Committee at MaxCap Group, bringing extensive experience in climate risk governance and sustainability. Based in Melbourne, she specialises in climate change and nature investment advisory, playing a vital role in guiding the firm's ESG strategies.
Before joining MaxCap Group, Sarah was a Partner and Head of Climate Risk Governance at MinterEllison, leading their international climate risk governance and sustainability team. She is currently a Managing Director at Pollination Law, part of the Pollination Group of climate change and nature investment and advisory specialists. Sarah has worked at the forefront of international developments with institutions such as the Bank of England, the United Nations, and the European Union, providing practical, forward-thinking advice to clients across various industries, including financial services, infrastructure, development, and government.
Sarah holds degrees in Commerce and Law (Hons) from Monash University, a Master of Environment (Deans’ Hons) from the University of Melbourne. She also serves as Co-Chair of the World Economic Forum’s Global Futures Council on Climate & Nature Governance, is Australia’s representative on the Commonwealth Climate and Law Initiative, sits as an academic visitor at Oxford University’s Smith School, and teaches sustainability in corporate governance for Cambridge University’s Institute for Sustainability Leadership.
