Manny Arabatzis
Chief Risk Officer
Manny Arabatzis is the Chief Risk Officer at MaxCap Group, bringing more than 35 years of experience in complex credit, risk, and banking. Based in Melbourne and leading the Risk & Credit team, he specialises in enterprise risk management, credit and market risk, risk transformation, governance, and relationship management. Manny plays a vital role in developing and executing risk frameworks, overseeing credit and compliance functions, and ensuring the firm’s risk strategy aligns with its business objectives.
Before joining MaxCap Group, Manny was Chief Risk Officer at Export Finance Australia (EFA), leading the group’s risk function and implementing compliance, credit, and reporting platforms. Prior to that, he held several executive risk and credit leadership roles, including Divisional Chief Risk Officer at IAG. Manny also spent over 16 years at ANZ, serving as Managing Director, Credit & Capital Management, Institutional Banking in his last role. He has also held key business, risk and credit leadership positions at National Australia Bank (NAB), including Managing Director, Global Head of Securitisation and Global Head of Credit.
Manny holds a Master’s in Applied Finance from Macquarie Applied Finance Centre, a Graduate Diploma in Banking and Finance from Monash University, and a Bachelor of Economics, Finance, and Banking from La Trobe University. He is a member of RMA, and FINSIA, and serves on multiple advisory boards, including the Zagame Family Advisory Board and Argiro Credit Platforms and has served on the Macquarie University Risk Advisory Board and several ANZ Bank Subsidiary Boards.
