Phil has over 30 years of executive experience in corporate, credit and assurance roles creating and leading high-performance teams in big name organisations such as ANZ Bank, Telstra, National Australia Bank and KPMG, cumulating in his role as Global Head of Commercial Property Risk for ANZ Bank, a role he held for over twelve years. Recently Phil conducted best practice credit risk reviews across several key players in the Private Credit industry.
Phil’s career has encompassed lending to Commercial Property, Construction, Aged Care and Diversified corporates and medium sized private business sectors and experience in the entire end to end banking value chain, from origination through to collections, Rating Model design, RBA and APRA liaison, risk measurement and major systems design and implementation. Phil’s many achievements include driving the creation of a sustainable and credible credit risk rating and decision support platform for commercial property and related industries. The effectiveness of this platform greatly limited losses sustained from the Global Financial Crisis and allowed continued lending post GFC when peers and second tier banks pulled back, with consequent uplift in revenues and market share.
