Michael Herlihy is Chief Risk Officer at MaxCap. Based in Sydney, he oversees credit, legal, compliance and strategic asset management risk across the business. He also plays a critical role in helping shape risk appetite, in line with growth objectives.
With more than 30 years’ experience, Michael has built and led global and regional risk functions covering both financial and non-financial risk. This includes holding senior positions at Westpac (Head of Institutional and Corporate Credit, covering the institutional lending, capital markets, and financial markets businesses), and Goldman Sachs (Chief Risk Officer – Australia Pacific).
Michael has a Bachelor of Business (Accountancy) from Queensland University of Technology and is a Chartered Accountant.
