Penny Tao, CFA

Penny Tao is Global Head of Chinese Capital at MaxCap Group, bringing over 20 years of experience in private banking, wealth management, and capital markets. Based in Melbourne and part of the Capital team, she specialises in capital-raising strategies across the Global Chinese investors and plays a vital role in developing and managing relationships with Institutional Investors, Family Offices and Ultra High Net Worth Individuals, as well as leading distribution initiatives and cross-border capital engagement. Before joining MaxCap Group, Penny worked at HSBC multiple offices in Australia, China, Hong Kong, and the UK. She is the first Mainland Chinese background branch manager in HSBC Victoria, the founding branch manager of the HSBC Chadstone branch, and received multiple prestige recognitions from the group and the region. Penny holds a Double Bachelor's Degree in Law and Finance from Shanghai Jiaotong University. She is a CFA charter holder and holds a Director Certificate from the Australian Institute of Management. Penny is also an executive committee member of Australia China Business Council Victoria branch and Vice President of Australia New Goldberg Orchestra.
