Senior Associate – Valuations

We are looking for a Senior Associate – Valuations to become a key player in our Melbourne Risk team. Reporting to the Head of Credit, the successful applicant will be integral in overseeing the valuation process and providing input into credit analysis and transaction structuring. They will have the opportunity to work on large-scale commercial projects across diverse asset classes nationwide.

Key Responsibilities:

• Brief and appoint valuers from our panel to ensure consistent and independent valuations.
• Review valuation and technical reports to assess project risks and asset suitability for lending purposes.
• Verify the accuracy and appropriateness of valuations for lending and covenant requirements.
• Develop and nurture relationships with service providers and industry experts in valuation and commercial real estate.
• Create and maintain a database for portfolio reporting to senior management on credit and valuations across all projects.
• Provide timely input on valuations and property risk into transaction structuring and counterparty risk assessment processes.
• Address and resolve concerns or queries from borrowers, third parties, and key stakeholders, escalating issues internally as needed.
• Manage and mitigate risks through effective collaboration with internal stakeholders and external advisors.
• Identify and address risks impacting valuation quality and engage in resolution efforts.

About You:

• Commercial Property Valuation Qualification (API or RICS)
• Proven experience in commercial property valuation or finance.
• Experience managing projects
• Strong risk management capabilities.
• Excellent communication skills (both written and verbal).
• Well-developed professional networks with the ability to build and maintain new relationships.
