Introduction

The primary objective is to provide oversight and approval of the Valuation process including reviewing individual valuations. The incumbent will also provide input into credit analysis and transaction structuring.



Roles & Responsibilities

Valuation Process Management:
• Brief and appoint all Valuers from our Panel, to ensure provision of consistent and independent valuations.
• Review Valuation and other technical reports to determine project risks and the acceptability of assets for lending purposes.
• Ensure the accuracy and suitability of existing and new valuations for lending and covenant purposes.
• Develop new contacts and build relationships with service providers and industry experts in the valuation and CRE industries.
• Maintain professional networks to foster best practice internally and promote the quality of MaxCap to industry participants.

Analysis & Reporting:
• Create and maintain a database for portfolio reporting to senior management on credit and valuations across all projects.

Credit Management:
• Provide timely input on valuations and property risk into the transaction structuring and counter-party risk assessment process.
• Work closely with the Head of Credit & Valuations, Chief Risk Officer, Investment & Distribution teams and construction risk to contribute to the loan/portfolio risk assessment process.
• Professionally and efficiently address concerns or queries raised by borrowers, third parties and key stakeholders; promptly escalate issues to the Head of Credit & Valuations, Chief Risk Officer and Investment Directors as required.
• Manage and mitigate risks through effective collaboration with internal stakeholders and external advisors.
• Assimilate complex information and make concise, well-informed recommendations.

Project / Contract Management:
• Review, negotiate and approve the valuations to be used.
• Comprehensively identify risks that might impact on the quality of valuations provided and engage to rectify these.
• Visit sites as required.

Education, Experience, Skills & Knowledge:
• Commercial Property Valuation Qualification (API or RICS)
• Commercial property valuation/finance experience (Banks, Financial Institutions, development, Private Investment Firms / Groups)

• Experience managing projects
